The online shopping and home delivery space has become more competitive than ever. Today the once successful MyWebGrocer now faces new found competition from almost every imaginable home delivery solution. Competition with seemingly more effective programs and technology who better understand both the retailer and the consumers needs.

MyWebGrocer at one time almost without a competitor now faces the likes of Instacart, Amazon Prime & Rosie just to name a few.

The MyWebGrocer shopping application and rather clunky shopping cart appear to remain simply an outdated tech option. Most if not all of the up front investment and labor must be provided by the individual retailer themselves. Retailers who find this transition a difficult and costly learning curve.

While flashing a few tech names the long and the short of it is the MyWebGrocer home shopping and or home delivery solution is at best considered an antiquated approach. MyWebGrocer is ill equipped compared to well financed upstarts like Instacart and the incomparable Amazon Prime.

Add to that the former talented professionals that created what is today MyWebGrocer have successfully sued MyWebGrocer and have begun winning large settlements based on what is referred to as deceptive "Phantom Stock" practices.

One former MyWeb Grocer executive has already won a $1,500,000 judgement against MyWebGrocer. The next year will bring some interesting viewing for those who enjoy the transition of all that is retail food. The need for the supermarket retailer to manage and control costs while servicing the consumer will be essential for sustainable retail food success.

While this is an article of opinion I believe like an older article I wrote "Tired brands In The Wrong Hands" MyWebGrocers future is likely a simple byline soon of a company so impressed with its own success, while forgetting and certainly overlooking what was its ultimate task....An effective home delivery solution for the retailer.

MyWebGrocer leaves too much work to a retailer inexperienced in home delivery while most other services like Instacart control retailer costs while delivering not only the groceries but sustainable retail success.

This is an article of my opinion. I write based on what I see each week in a grocery industry I have always enjoyed on both a personal and business level.

Many have asked why I choose to write about what I see in the supermarket industry today and my ideas.
